Zhai Qing addresses the deployment meeting for institutionalizing the “Party building studies” as a regular event

BEIJING-A meeting was held on May 19 in Beijing to make deployments for institutionalizing the “Party building studies” as a regular event for the departments under MEP. The meeting studied and implemented the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the guidelines of the symposium of the CPC Central Committee on institutionalizing the “Party building studies” as a regular event, reviewed the Ministry’s party building studies over the past year, and made deployments for institutionalizing the studies as a regular event. A leading Party member and Vice Minister Zhai Qing delivered remarks on behalf of Minister Chen Jining, who is also the Secretary of the Ministry’s leading Party group.

Zhai stressed that General Secretary Xi Jinping gave full recognition to the effects of the Party building studies, and expounded the significance, objectives, tasks, and basic requirements for institutionalizing the studies as a regular event, providing essential guidance to our work. The General Office of the CPC Central Committee printed and distributed the Opinions for Institutionalizing the Party Building Studies as a Regular Event, and organized a symposium and proposed specific requirements to promote this effort.

Zhai pointed out that the leading Party group of MEP has, in accordance with the unified deployments of the CPC Central Committee, taken the Party building studies as a major political mission and achieved notable results. The majority of the Party members across the environmental protection departments have significantly raised their awareness of upholding political integrity, keeping in mind the bigger picture, following the CPC as the core of the Chinese leadership, and acting consistently with CPC Central Committee policy. Moreover, they have strengthened the Party regulations and disciplines, and consolidated the bedrock for Party building at all levels. The leading officials have done better at playing a leading role, the community-level Party organizations have further played their part as solid fortress, and the Party members have strengthened their exemplary roles; they all have been devoted to their work and further advanced the environmental protection effort.

Zhai stressed that in order to institutionalizing the Party building studies as a regular event, all branches of environmental protection must thoroughly learn the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and from the political stance and the perspective of the overall picture, be deeply aware of the significance of doing so. We should earnestly implement the general deployments and specific requirements of the CPC Central Committee, make substantial efforts to advance the above said institutionalizing, get deeper in the Party building studies; set higher standards for passing the evaluation so that the Party members can manage to have political sense and faiths, observe rules and disciplines, value the morality and good conducts, and stress devotions and great deeds; improve the study methodology, make annual plans for the “three meetings and one lecture”, organize theme activities and select exemplary role models; specify the study effects, adhere to the problem-oriented principle, and constantly improve the effects. Furthermore, we should strengthen the organization and leadership of the studies, shoulder our main responsibilities, enable the leading officials to spearhead at work, tighten the assessment and guidance, and greet the victorious opening of the 19th National Congress of the CPC with new study results.

The heads of the Party branches with the internal departments of the Ministry, and the heads and Party affair officials with the Beijing-based regional offices and affiliated institutions attended the meeting.
