TAIXING, Jun. 7-MEP organized the mobilization meeting for the 2017 national drill on environmental compliance inspection in Taixing Municipality of Jiangsu Province in East China. The meeting wrapped up the environmental compliance inspection in the year 2016 and commended the advanced collectives and individuals that had made outstanding performance in this regard. The meeting encouraged the national environmental protection branches at all levels and the environmental inspectors to have firm confidence and continue with the national drill this year. Vice Minister Zhai Qing spoke at the meeting.

Zhai said, in recent years, under the firm leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the national environmental protection branches at all levels have constantly strengthened the environmental inspection and regulation, and investigated the environmental incompliances. In this process, exemplary role models emerged because they had strictly and fully observed their duties and shouldered heavy burdens, and created good atmosphere for learning, observing and applying environmental legislations.

Zhai stressed that the national environmental protection branches at all levels should follow the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee the work plans of the Leading Party Members’ Group, tighten the environmental compliance inspection and regulation and crack down on the environmental incompliances. They should continue with the national drill on environmental compliance inspection, and constantly improve the capacity of the inspectors.

The meeting commended five provincial-level collectives, 20 municipal-level collectives, and 20 county-level collectives, as well as 100 individuals who have made outstanding achievements in environmental compliance inspection.

The officials responsible for environmental supervision and inspection, and the heads of the environmental supervision and inspection agencies under the environmental protection departments of all the provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, as well as Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, attended the meeting.
