On Aug. 28, Vice Minister Li Ganjie met in Beijing with Ramzi Jammal, Executive Vice President of Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). The two sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation on nuclear safety and other issues of common concern, and signed a memorandum of understanding on nuclear safety cooperation.

On Aug. 29, the kick-off meeting of the IAEA Integrated Regulatory Review Service (IRRS) mission to China was held in Beijing. Vice Minister Li Ganjie delivered remarks at the meeting that was chaired by the Ministry’s Chief Engineer Liu Hua.

On the same day, MEP printed and distributed the Decision on Awarding 118 Comrades (Chen Lvjun, etc.) the Title of National-level Technical Pioneers and Top-notch Young Talents in Environment Protection Sector.

On Aug. 30, Vice Minister Li Ganjie met in Beijing with Jose Gutierrez, the new Acting President and CEO of Westinghouse Electric Company recently. The two sides exchanged views on issues of common concern.

On Aug. 31, MEP organized a meeting on promoting the studies on the theoretical and practical issues of Party building. Li Ganjie, a Leading Party member and Vice Minister, delivered remarks at the meeting. The secretaries and Party affairs staff of the Ministry’s internal departments and Beijing-based institutions attended the meeting.
