The standard is in reference to the international standard of Acoustics - Measurement of Noise Emitted by Stationary Road Vehicles - Survey Method (ISO5130-1982). It is applicable to the measurement of noise emitted by all types of stationary road vehicles. The term "stationary" refers to the situation that the vehicle is not moving and the engine is in racing operation. The measurement data obtained by employing the method set down in the standard can be used to evaluate and check the major noise source of vehicle, namely the emission noise and engine noise level. The measurement data directly got from this method cannot represent the maximum noise level of the vehicle in motion.
