This technical specification is formulated for the purpose of implementing Standard of Environmental Noise of Urban Area (GB3096-93), unifying the methods to determine suitable areas for environmental noise in urban area, and guiding in a scientific way the determination of such areas. This technical specification provides the principles and methods to determine different areas that apply the five standards for environmental noise in urban area. This standard shall apply to the planned areas in cities.
