This standard is formulated for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Opinions of the State Council on Strengthening the Major Tasks of Environmental Protection, setting standards for the use of terms on the internet of things in the environment protection sector, and guiding the formulation of the standards for the internet of things in this sector. This standard specifies the generic and basic terms and definitions for the development and application of the internet of things in the environmental protection sector.
