This standard is formulated for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, and Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, preventing and controlling the environmental pollution, improving the environmental quality, and setting standards for the labeling and presentation of pollutant discharging units. This standard specifies the coding rules for the pollutant discharging units, and their permanent complexes, production facilities, pollution control facilities, and sewage outlets.
