This standard is formulated for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, protecting the environment, safeguarding the human health, and setting standards for the determination of chromium (VI) in water. This standard specifies the flow injection analysis (FIA) and diphenylcarbazide spectrometric method used to determine chromium(VI) in surface water, groundwater, and municipal wastewater.
