This standard is developed for the purposes of enforcing the “Law of the People’s Republic of China on Environmental Protection” and the “Law of the People’s Republic of China on Prevention and Control of Environment Noise Pollution”, and setting standards for the monitoring and evaluation of environmental noise emission. This standard specifies the measurement method of background noise and the method for correction of measured noise level. This standard is developed under the organization of the Department of Science, Technology, and Standards, MEP.
