This standard is developed for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Radioactive Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, protecting the environment, safeguarding the public health, and setting standards for the environmental monitoring methods. This standard specifies the radiochemical analysis of strontium-90 in water and ash of biological samples. It is the amended integration of four standards, that is, Radiochemical analysis of strontium-90 in water-Extraction chromatography by di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (GB 6766-86), Radiochemical analysis of strontium-90 in water-Precipitation by fuming nitric acid (GB 6764-86), Radiochemical analysis of strontium-90 in water-Ion exchange method (GB 6765-86), and Radiochemical analysis of strontium-90 in ash of biological samples-Extraction Chromatography by di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (GB 11222.1-89). It adopts almost the same analytical methods and principles as the original standards.

Radiochemical analysis of strontium-90 in water and ash of biological samples(HJ 815-2016 replacing GB 6766-86、GB 6764-86、GB 6765-86 and GB 11222.1-89)
