This standard is formulated for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, improving the monitoring systems and environmental management level. This standard specifies the technical requirements for the layout of the monitoring sites, sampling duration and frequency, collection, transport, and storage of the samples, monitoring and analysis methodology, data processing, quality assurance, and quality control for the manual monitoring of ambient air quality.
