The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementation of Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, reducing the impacts of computers and displays on the environment and human health in the production and consumption process and protecting the environment. The current standard specifies the requirements for the limit for control substances in product, energy consumption, noise, product package and instruction manual for computer and display products at the design and production stages. The current standard is the revision of Technical Requirement for Environmental Labeling Products── Computers and Displays (HJ/T 313－2006) with references to IEEE No.1680 standard; “No.119 Type of Ecological Label” “Personal Computers──Version 2.4 of Environmental Labeling Bureau of Japan Environment Association; Nordic Ecolabeling of Computer──Version 6.1 of North Europe White Swan Eco Labeling and “TCO Certified Desktops 3.0” and “TCO Certified Displays 5.2” of Sweden TCO standards. The current standard is applicable to certification of environmental labeling products in China.
