The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementation of Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China; promoting the application of information technology in environmental protection and standardizing the design of environmental information data dictionary and development of environmental information database. The current standard specifies the contents such as the composition, nature and requirements for compilation of environmental information data dictionary. The current standard is released for the first time.
