The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementation of Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China; strengthening the management of environmental data, standardizing exchange process of environmental information and promoting sharing and application of environmental data. The current standard specifies description method and information exchange format of XML of environment information. It describes the exchange model, transmission methods and exchange flow of environment information among heterogeneous systems. Annex A and B of the current standard are normative annexes. Annex C is informative annex. The current standard is released for the first time.
