The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementation of Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China; promoting the application of information technology in environmental protection, strengthening and guiding the development and management of safety of environmental information system and ensuring the safety of environmental information system. The current standard specifies the security requirements in areas such as physical security, network security, host security, application security, data security and backup & recovery, system development, system maintenance, terminal and office safety of environmental information systems. Annex A and Annex B of the current standard are normative annexes; while Annex C is an informative annex. The current standard is released for the first time.
