The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, standardizing the development, publication and printing of national environmental protection standards and ensuring the quality of development and revision of standards. The current standard specifies structure, editing and type-set rules of national environmental protection standards; general principle for the utilization of amount, unit and symbol as well as the format, letterform and font etc. of standard publications. The current standard is applicable to the drafting and publishing on national environmental protection standards. The development and publication of local environmental protection standards may refer to the current standard. The current standard is released for the first time in China.
