This standard is formulated for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, and deriving water quality criteria for the protection of human health, in a science-based and standard approach. This standard specifies the protocols, methodologies and technical specifications for deriving water quality criteria for the protection of human health.
