This standard is formulated for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, protecting the environment, safeguarding the human health, and setting standards for the determination of volatile petroleum hydrocarbons (C6-C9) in water. This standard specifies the purge and trap/gas chromatography used to determine volatile petroleum hydrocarbons (C6-C9) in water. The Appendix A to this standard is referential.
