This standard is formulated for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, protecting the environment, safeguarding the human health, and setting standards for the determination of polybrominated diphenyl ethers in water. This standard specifies the gas chromatography mass spectrometry method used to determine polybrominated diphenyl ethers in surface water, groundwater, industrial wastewater, and municipal wastewater.
