The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Law of the People’s Republic of China on Environmental Impact Assessment, standardizing assessment of environmental risk of alien species, protecting eco environment and ensuring normal economic and social activities. The current standard specifies the principle, contents, work procedures, methods and requirement for assessing environmental risks of alien species. The current standard is applicable to the assessment of potential ecological threats by alien species due to plan or construction projects. The current standard is issued for the first time in China.
