Guideline for eco-environmental biosafety assessment of Insect-resistant transgenic plants(on trial)
HJ 625—2011 putting into effect as of
Abstract:

The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, implementing the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, assessing and controlling possible environmental risks due to insect-resistant transgenic plants and protecting eco environment and biodiversity. The current standard specifies the requirement for testing eco-environment biosafety of insect-resistant plants; identified the procedures and contents of four tests on eco environment biosafety such as impacts on non-target organisms, gene flow, ecological adaptation and resistance of target organisms to insect-resistant plants; and develops corresponding testing method. The current standard is applicable to test of eco environment biosafety of insect-resistant plants having insect resistance through the expression of insect-resistant protein. The current standard is issued for the first time in China.
