Solid waste-Extraction procedure for leaching toxicity-Horizontal vibration method
HJ 557-2010 replacing GB 5086.2-1997 and putting into effect as of May.1, 2010
Abstract:

The current standard is revised for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China and Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste, protecting the environment, ensuring human health and standardizing the method on testing the leaching toxicity of solid waste. The current standard specifies leaching procedures and quality assurance measures for testing of solid wastes. The current standard is applicable to the assessment of the leaching risk of inorganic pollutants (except unstable pollutants such as cyanide and sulfides) in solid waste and other solid phase substances under the leaching of surface or ground water. The current standard is not applicable to the samples containing non-water soluble liquid. The current standard is the revision of Solid waste─Extraction procedure for leaching toxicity─Horizontal vibration method (GB 5086.2-1997). The original Solid Waste─Extraction Procedure for Leaching Toxicity─Horizontal Vibration Method (GB 5086.2-1997) approved and released by the former State Environmental Protection Administration on December 22, 1997 shall be nullified beginning from the date when the current standard goes into effect.
