The standard was formulated for the purpose of implementing the Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Law of People’s Republic of China on Prevention and Control of Pollution by Solid Wastes, protecting the environment and human health and regulating the determination methods of volatile organic compounds in solid waste. The standard provides headspace-gas chromatography/mass method for determining volatile organic compounds in solid wastes. This is the first issuance of the standard.
