This standard is formulated for the purpose of implementing Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Wastes and preventing the pollution caused by landfill disposal of hazardous wastes on the environment. This standard stipulates the environmental requirements for building and operating landfill sites for hazardous wastes, including the conditions for access to the landfill sites, siting, design, construction, operation, closure and monitoring of the landfill sites. This standard is the first of its kind.
