The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Law of the People’s Republic of China on Prevention and Control of Water Pollution, standardizing the construction, operation and management of waste water treatment projects using biological contact oxidation process, preventing and controlling environmental pollution and protecting the environment and human health. The current standard specifies the technical requirements for process design, main equipment and materials, testing & process control, construction, check & acceptance, operation and maintenance of waste water treatment projects that employ biological contact oxidation process and its combined process. The current standard is applicable to sewage or industrial effluent treatment projects that employ biological contact oxidation process and its combined technology. It can serve as technical bases for environmental impact assessment, design, construction, environmental protection check & acceptance, and operation and management of facilities. The current standard is issued for the first time in China.
