The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Law of the People’s Republic of China on Prevention and Control of Water Pollution, improving environment quality and standardizing the application of membrane biological process in waste water treatment projects. The current standard specifies technology design, main process equipment and materials, testing & control, technical requirements for construction, check & acceptance, operation and maintenance of waste water treatment by membrane biological process. The current standard is applicable to the treatment of urban sewage projects employing membrane biological process and treatment & reuse of industrial effluent that could be treated by biological method. It can serve as technical bases for environmental impact assessment, design, construction, environmental protection check & acceptance, and operation and management of facilities.
