The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China and standardizing the utilization of environmental engineering terminology. The current standard specifies the Chinese and English name and definitions of environmental engineering terminology. The current standard is applicable to the terminologies employed in the fields such as environmental engineering design, project management, construction, operation and technical exchanges. The current standard is issued for the first time in China.
