The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste and Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution, standardizing construction, operation and management of the projects employing dry-detoxification treatment and disposal of chromium residue, achieving environment-friendly treatment and disposal of chromium residue, and improving environmental quality. The current standard specifies the technical requirements such as overall requirements, technology design, testing, process control, supporting engineering, labor safety & occupational health, construction, environmental check & acceptance, operation and management of the projects employing dry-detoxification method to treat and dispose chromium residue. The current standard is applicable to the projects employing dry-detoxification treatment and disposal of chromium residue. It can serve as technical bases for EIA, feasibility study, design, construction, check & acceptance, environmental check & acceptance and post-construction operation and management of such projects. The current standard is issued for the first time in China.
