The standard was formulated for the purpose of implementing the Environmental Protection Law of the People¡¯s Republic of China, Law on the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution and Law on the Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, regulating the design, construction and operation of hospital sewage treatment facilities, preventing environmental pollution from hospital sewage and disease spreading and safeguarding human health. The standard defines overall requirement on hospital sewage treatment projects and technical requirements on production process and technical parameters, equipment and material, testing and process control, design of supporting facilities, work safety and occupational hygiene, construction and acceptance, operation and maintenance. The standard is for guidance only. This is the first issuance of the standard.
