The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, preventing and controlling environment pollution, improving environmental quality and achieving standard labeling and expression of pollution sources. The current standard specifies the coding rules for pollution sources across the country. The current standard is applicable to information processing and information exchange in the management of environmental pollution sources across the country. The current standard is issued for the first time in China.
