The current regulations are developed for the purpose of implementing the Standard of Environmental Noise of Urban Area (GB3096-93), unifying the zoning method to determinate the suitable areas for environmental noise of urban area and guiding noise zoning in a scientific way. The current regulations specify the principle and method for the determination of 5 types of suitable areas for environmental noise of urban area and are applicable to urban planning areas.
