BEIJING, Oct. 9-The inauguration ceremony of the MEP Party School & the opening ceremony of the training seminar for director-level cadres in the 2016 autumn semester were held in Beijing today. Secretary of the Ministry’s Leading Party Group and Minister Chen Jining addressed the inauguration ceremony. Chen stressed the importance to give the top priority of the Party school education to the systematic study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important statements, have a firm belief of staying true to our original selves, adhere to the principles of “enabling the Party school to serve the CPC, building the school on quality, making the school prosperous with our practices, and comprehensively strengthening Party discipline”, develop a highland of education for the Party members in the line of environmental protection, build a team of honest, clean, and responsible environmental protectors, and provide strong support for the improvement of the environmental quality.
Over more than nine decades, Party schools have walked side by side with the Party’s causes, said Chen. Under the new circumstances, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the General Secretary has highly valued the work of the Party schools, taken them as one of the inherent requirements for comprehensively strengthening Party discipline, and emphasized that to establish and keep the Party schools running smoothly is what our Party needs to make constant self-improvement and what the Party’s causes need to march forward towards further development. The training programs a Party school offers are important and practical for the national environmental protection branches. Only do they have a thorough understanding of the Party’s basic theories, fundamental lines, cardinal programme, and elementary experience, can the protectors of the environment take responsibilities voluntarily, be dedicated to practices personally, and become a true and loyal believer of the Party’s causes, a steadfast executor of the CPC Central Committee’s decisions, and a real catalyst for eco-environmental protection.
Chen Jining pointed out that the Ministry’s Party school must focus on its major responsibilities and always give top priority to enhancing the Party’s education on theories and spirits. It should give the first priority of its education programs to the study of the important statements of General Secretary Xi Jinping, take the basic Marxism theories as the compulsory course of its programs, and take the Party’s purposes and beliefs as the permanent theme. It should help cultivate a firm belief of staying true to our original selves, substantially enhance the Party members’ political awareness, awareness of overall situation, awareness of core issues, and awareness of keeping abreast with fellow Party members, and always keep the Party members to be advanced and pure. It should adhere to the principle of running, managing, and supervising the training programs strictly, make the Party members in national environmental protection branches truly understand the essence of strengthening the Party discipline, and actually take the main responsibilities for this effort. It should always put the disciplines and rules above everything, be discreet with our languages and conducts, with awe in our heart, be careful with our languages, and exercise self-control in our acts, always bear in mind the Party’s disciplines and rules, and lock the power behind the bar of institutions.
Chen stressed that the CPC Central Committee has made a series of decisions and deployments for the development of ecological civilization and environmental protection, and they represent the political awareness and overall situation each and every Party member of the national environmental protection branches should align with. In the training sessions, the trainees especially Party member cadres will systematically study the major statements of General Secretary Xi Jinping on eco-environmental conservation and green development, get an in-depth understanding of the essence, pinpoint the requirements that are proposed, and integrated with their own environmental protection practices, straighten out their train of thought, and seize the work priorities and make progress. They will further free up their minds, seek reform and innovation, and be good at dealing with new challenges and accomplishing new tasks with fresh ideas and methods. They will change their work ideas and methodologies, develop the idea of overall situation, overcome departmentalism, break out of the fences of interests, strengthen overall planning and coordination, and design and promote the environmental tasks around the core task of improving environmental quality. They will strengthen and improve the investigations and studies, conduct field investigations in community-level places ridden with environmental problems, take a modest attitude to seek advice, and get down to earth. They will adhere to the problem-oriented principle, face up to tough problems and take tough measures, make earnest efforts to solve major and difficult problems, and keep pushing forward the reforms and development in the eco-environmental protection sector.
Finally, Chen emphasized that the Ministry’s Party school is the main platform for the education of cadres in the line of environmental protection, so we must adhere to the principles of “enabling the Party school to serve the CPC, building the school on quality, making the school prosperous with our practices, and comprehensively strengthening Party discipline”, constantly improve the teaching and management levels, and cultivate a team of high-quality cadres for the environmental protection cause.
Vice Minister of the Ministry and President of the Party school Li Ganjie chaired the inauguration ceremony and emphasized that the trainees should value this opportunity, manage to acquire and accomplish something from the programs, and apply the mastered new knowledge and new theories to the innovation-based development of the environmental protection effort. The Party school should run the school with high yardsticks, establish sound rules and regulations, create healthy school ethos and study style, and take the teaching up to new levels. In the meantime, relevant departments should provide quality services and support for the development of the Party school, work hard to implement the requirement for comprehensively strengthening the Party discipline, balance and facilitate the “four comprehensives” strategic blueprint (which is, comprehensively build a moderately prosperous society, comprehensively deepen reform, comprehensively implement the rule of law, and comprehensively strengthen Party discipline), and build a team of environmental protectors who have strong political awareness, proficient skills, courage, and good work style.
Representative of the trainees attending the first term training seminar responded that they will cherish this opportunity, aim higher in terms of ideological awareness, studies, work, and work styles, be loyal to their duties, take responsibilities, and make new and greater contributions to the environmental protection cause.
