The standard was formulated for the purpose of implementing the Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law, Decision of the State Council on the Implementation of the Outlook on Scientific Development and Strengthening Environmental Protection and Opinion of the State Council on Preparing the Plan on National Major Function Zones, protecting the environment, preventing and controlling pollution and propelling advances in production process and pollution control technology of electronic glass industry. The standard provides emission limits for air pollutants and requirements on monitoring and supervision of electronic glass companies. Water pollutants and ambient noise caused by such companies apply to relevant national pollution discharge standard. Identification, treatment and disposal of solid waste generated by such companies apply to national standard on pollution control of solid waste. This is the first issuance of the standard.
