This standard is formulated in a bid to implement laws and regulations including the Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution, the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Atmospheric Pollution and Marine Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China as well as the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan (Guofa [2013] No. 37), protect the environment, prevent pollution and promote the advancement of production techniques and pollution treatment technologies for stannum, antimony and mercury manufacturing industries. The standard stipulates the ceiling value for the discharge of water and air pollutants and requirements on monitoring of stannum, antimony and mercury mining and smelting enterprises and special discharge limits of water and air pollutants for key areas. This standard is issued for the first time.
