This standard is developed for the purposes of implementing the “Law of the People’s Republic of China on Environmental Protection”, preventing and controlling soil pollution, protecting soil resources and soil environment, protecting the public health, preserving the ecosystem, and ensuring the environmental safety of exhibition sites. This standard specifies the items, limits, monitoring methods and supervision of the soil quality assessment for exhibition sites, by the type of land uses. This standard targets at 92 varieties of pollutants, including 14 inorganic pollutants, 24 volatile organic substances, 47 semi-volatile organic substances, and 7 other pollutants. This standard shall apply to the soil quality assessment for exhibition sites. This standard is an interim standard and shall be enforced in accordance with relevant national standards on soil environment protection after they are promulgated.
