This standard is formulated for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Environmental Impact Assessment Law of the People’s Republic of China, and guiding and setting standards for the ecological impact assessment. This standard provides the general principles, approaches, contents and technical requirements of the ecological impact assessment. This standard shall apply to the assessment of the impact caused by construction projects on ecosystems and its contributing factors. The ecological impact assessment of regions and plans may refer to this standard. This standard is the first amendment to the Technical guidelines for environmental impact assessment-Ecological environment of nature resource development (HJ/T 19-1997), which shall be abolished as of the day this standard goes into effect.
