This standard is formulated for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Environmental Impact Assessment Law of the People’s Republic of China, and guiding and setting standards for the technical review of environmental impact assessment. This standard provides the general principles, procedures, approaches, basic contents, essentials, and requirements of the technical review of environmental impact assessment statements of construction projects. This standard shall apply to the technical review by environmental impact assessment institutions at all levels on the environmental impact assessment statements of construction projects. This standard shall not apply to the technical review of the environmental impact assessment statements of construction projects on nuclear facilities, power transmission and transformation projects that may cause radioactive pollution, or other construction projects that may cause electromagnetic environmental impact. This standard is released for the first time in China.
