The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, Law of the People’s Republic of China on Environmental Impact Assessment and Regulations on Environmental Protection of Construction Projects and standardizing environmental impacts of coal mining and mineral processing projects. The current standard specifies the general principle, contents, methods and technical requirements for environmental impact assessment of coal mining and mineral processing projects. The current standard is applicable to environmental impact assessment of construction projects of coal development within the territory of the People’s Republic of China. The follow-up environment impact assessment of coal mining and mineral processing projects as well as environment impact assessment of exploration of coal resources may comply with the current standard. The current standard is issued for the first time in China.
