The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementing the Law of the People's Republic of China on Environmental Protection, standardizing environmental protection design of catering trade, preventing pollution in catering trade, protecting and improving the living environment, ensuring public health and facilitating sustained economic and social development. The current standard specifies such contents as site selection, layout, general requirement for environmental protection design, oil fume removal and emission, drainage and oil separation, noise & vibration control and control of solid wastes in catering trade. The current standard is applicable to the prevention and control of pollution and environmental protection of new, reformed and expanded catering enterprises in cities and towns. Non-commercial canteens may refer to this standard. 　 The current standard is released for the first time in China.
