This standard is formulated for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, and the Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, and guiding and standardizing the self-monitoring of pollution sources. It specifies the general requirements for the self-monitoring of the pollution sources, the development of monitoring plans, the quality assurance and quality control of the monitoring, and the basic contents and requirements for the information recording and reporting.
