Zhu Guangyao, Male, born in October 1944 in Yiyang, Hunan Province. Bachelor Degree. Senior Engineer.

Graduated from the Department of Forest Farm, Central South China Institute of Forestry in 1968. From 1968 to 1976, he worked as a technician in Jilongshan Forest Farm, Boluo County, Guangdong Province. Later, he worked as a technician in the Bureau of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Resources of the county. From 1976 to 1986, he worked as Director of the Party Office, Qingshigang Forest Farm, Ling County, Hunan Province, Program Office of the Administrative Office of Ling County Party Committee; Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of Ceyuan Commune Party Committee. From February of 1981 to July of 1986, he worked as Vice Magistrate and Magistrate of Ling County, Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of Ling County CPC. From July 1986 to July 1993, he was Deputy Director General and then Director General of the Department of Afforestation of the Ministry of Forestry. From July of 1993 to March of 1998, he was Vice Minister of the Ministry of Forestry, a Member of the Party Group of Ministry of Forestry, concurrently the Deputy Director of the Administrative Office of the National Committee on Afforestation and the Secretary General of China Implementation Committee for the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. From March of 1998 to Feb. of 2002, he was Vice Minister and Member of Party Group of the State Environmental Protection Administration. From Feb. of 2002 to December of 2006, Vice Minister and Vice Secretary General of Party Group of the State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA). In November of 2002, he was elected as a Member of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of CPC. From October to September of 2007, he concurrently held the post as the Head of the Permanent Discipline Inspection Group in SEPA sent by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of CPC. Now he is a Member of the Leading Party Group of SEPA.
