The second revisit of the Central Ecological and Environmental Inspection kicked off, and by Nov. 6, all of the five inspection teams had been deployed in the 10 target provinces.
The inspection teams plan to revisit the problems supposed to be rectified following the first round inspection, check the local progress in the implementation of the rectification plans, and keep a close eye on nonfeasance and misfeasance problems, such as reluctance in making rectification, perfunctory rectification, and a “one-for-all” approach to all problems. Also, they will check how well the major ecological and environmental problems are processed, and the environmental problems in the living environment are being addressed. Furthermore, a separate inspection will be conducted in each target province, on one of the seven major pollution areas and other major areas.
The inspection teams take phone calls between 8:00 and 20:00 each day.
