This standard is formulated for the purpose of implementing Law of People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Wastes, preventing the environmental pollution caused by the storage of hazardous wastes, and enhancing the supervision and regulation of the storage of hazardous wastes. This standard stipulates the general requirements for storage of hazardous wastes, including the siting, design, operation, protection, monitoring and closure of the packaging and storing facilities of hazardous wastes. This standard is the first of its kind.
