This standard is formulated for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, protecting the environment, safeguarding the human health, strengthening environmental management, and setting standards for the automatic monitoring of surface water. This standard specifies the technical specifications for the development, acceptance check, operation, and maintenance of the automatic monitoring system of surface water.
