The current standard is formulated for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and Law of the People’s Republic of China on Promotion of Cleaner Production, protecting the environment, and providing technical supports and guidelines for the wine industry to conduct cleaner production. This standard provides the general requirements for wine producers to have cleaner production on the basis of meeting the national and local emission standards and in line with the existing technological, equipment and managerial levels of this industry. This standard includes three levels, the first level represents the international advanced level of clean production, the second represents domestic advanced level of clean production, and the third represents domestic basic level of clean production. This standard shall be amended every three or five years in line with technological development. This standard provides the general requirements for clean production of the wine industry. This standard classifies the indicators for clean production into five kinds, that is, requirements for production techniques and equipment, indicator for the use of resources and energy, pollutant indicator (prior to the end-of-pipe treatment), indicator for waste recycling, and environmental management requirements. This standard shall apply to the assessment of clean production of the wine and base wine producers, the estimation of the potential and chance of clean production, the performance assessment of clean production and the performance disclosure system for clean production, as well as environmental management systems like environmental impact assessment and pollutant discharge permit. This standard is the first version.
