The current standard is developed for the purpose of implementation of Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, Law on the Promotion of Clean Production and Law on the Promotion of Circular Economy; promoting the development of ecological civilization in industrial  field and standardizing the construction and operation of National Demonstration Eco-industrial Parks. The current standard specifies the contents such as the methods, indicators, data collection & calculation methods for evaluation of National Demonstration Eco-industrial Parks. The current standard was firstly released in 2006 and this is the first revision.
